His biggest cash to date came back in July when he finished second in a $750K guaranteed event for $94K. In August, he turned in a victory in the Friday Night Fight, for $32,000. But the month of October was one to remember for Franklin. On the 18th he won a $200K re-buy event for $71K, while simultaneously placing third in the Sunday 500 for $48K more. A week earlier he won $29K for a first-place finish in a $100K event, while also posting cashes of 9K, 16K, 26K, 5K, 6K, and 11K all in the month of October. Despite his age, Franklin seems to take it all in stride. In an interview for pocketfives.com he talked about going deep in two big events at the same time;
“I was having a lot of fun being deep in the Sunday 500 and $150 re-buy at the same time. The feeling of being that deep in both of those tournaments, with that kind of money on the line, it’s just fun to play. Obviously, doing as well as I did was pretty nice too.”
Franklin began playing poker when a video game friend introduced him to the game. At first he played $5 sit-and-go tournaments, and that turned into $1/$2 cash games. I'm definitely not perfect in my game, but I'd say where I'm at right now in the rankings is fair. I'm challenging myself to see if I can get into the Top Five this year, though”.
