South wasn’t about to get off his hand and he re-raised the action again, making it $42K to go. That was enough for “durrrr” and he quickly folded out of the crazy action when it got around to him again.
“martonas” looked up the re-raise and the two saw a flop of 5d, 7d, 9h. The pot was already up to $87K, and after the flop hit the board South came out betting $62K. It didn’t take much time in the think tank for “martonas” to call the bet, and the 10 of clubs followed shortly after on the turn. This card must have put some fear into South’s mind because he came out betting again, this time for the rest of his stack of over $200K. Once again his opponent didn’t take long to call the bet, despite having to call off the rest of his stack.
When the cards were turned over “martonas” was holding top pair with a weak kicker (J-10 of hearts) and must have figured that that was good enough to call off $100K of his bankroll. More surprisingly than that, Smith had played that aggressive hand with only a flush draw, showing the King-2 of diamonds. If “martonas” was able to put him on a flush draw and make that call with only top pair/weak kicker, he’s someone you don’t want to run into on Pinnacle Poker in a cash game any time soon.
