The provisional 2010 Formula One calendar sees several changes on the season just ended, and more are anticipated with several issues left unresolved. There are 19 races scheduled, as opposed to 17 in 2009, with the Canadian Grand Prix returning and the Korean Grand Prix making its first appearance. One of the most important races on the calendar - the British Grand Prix - is under threat after Donington Park, expected to take over from Silverstone in 2010, failed to secure necessary funding. The FIA are currently in negotiation with Silverstone to ensure the race survives. Similarly, the Japanese Grand Prix was due to return to the Fuji Speedway, but after Toyota abandoned plans to support the race, it will remain at Suzuka. We may see some additional name changes if the British Grand Prix saga remains unresolved, and the race name cannot be used.
