BET ON WHICH SOPRANOS CHARACTER GETS WHACKED FIRST

PinnacleSports.com Lays Odds On Sixth Season Of “The Sopranos”

WILLEMSTAD, CURACAO (March 3, 2006)—In just nine days television’s most popular mob family returns to the screen when HBO premieres the sixth season of “The Sopranos”. When viewers last saw the mafia’s first family, New York boss Johnny Sack was arrested by the FBI, Tony and Carmela reconciled, Silvio killed Adriana for being an informant, and Tony shot his own cousin to smooth over relations with the New York family. With fans of the mob drama anxiously awaiting the forthcoming season, PinnacleSports.com today announced odds on the first Sopranos character to be “whacked” or pass away during the upcoming season of the show.

The largest sports betting site on the Internet, PinnacleSports.com has created odds on 18 regular characters of the mob drama being the first to be killed-off in the upcoming season. Soprano family soldier Vito Spatafore is the early favorite to be the first character rubbed-out at 6/1 odds (i.e., win $6 for every $1 bet). PinnacleSports.com has listed Uncle Junior as the second most likely to pass away at 7/1 odds because his age and health are always issues. With a drug relapse always possible and the imminent return of “the Russian” on the horizon, Christopher Moltisanti appears to be a prime candidate for early termination at 8/1. Loyal Soprano crew members Bobby Bacala and Patsy Parisi are both 9/1 to be killed-off first based on future and past beefs within the family.

“No other successful television program produces the suspense of The Sopranos where fans constantly speculate who’ll be the next to ‘sleep with the fishes,’” said Simon Noble of PinnacleSports.com. “It’s rumored that Vito gets whacked while out of town on business, whether that’s for his past sexual relations with another man or for a new beef is unknown. While Uncle Junior and Christopher are key confidants to Tony, both have risk factors including age, health, drug use and being related to the boss that make them vulnerable to being killed-off. Although he’s appeared to put it behind him, Patsy once fingered Tony for the murder of his brother and even pointed a gun at him through a window. If that issue resurfaces, it could mark the end of the line for Patsy.”

Knowing that members of the Jersey crew are always at risk, PinnacleSports.com has listed Soprano soldiers Eugene Pontecorvo and Benny Fazio at 10/1 odds to meet their ultimate demise. The return of “the Russian” early this season could be Paulie Walnuts undoing, making him a solid contender to be bumped-off first at 12/1. PinnacleSports.com lists Tony’s childhood friend and restaurant owner Artie Bucco at 14/1, while New York captain, Phil Leotardo is 17/1 to pass away or get whacked first. Tony’s consigliore Silvio Dante and sister Janice Soprano are both 29/1 long shots to be killed-off first, while his psychiatrist Dr. Melfi and the incarcerated Johnny Sack are at 44/1. With another eight episodes slated for early next year and talks of a potential movie in the future, Tony, Carmela, AJ and Meadow appear safe for the time being and as such are the biggest underdogs to get whacked or pass away first at 90/1 odds.

Customers may also bet on the unlikely event that none of the characters listed with individual odds will be killed-off during the sixth season at 20/1 odds.
